“Love takes time. Love is trust, hard work, and effort to show the value of something.”
We see heart-shaped and lovey dovey stuff like this all over the place on Valentine’s Day. But what if we changed it so that seeing stuff like this was more of just a daily occurrence? A holiday to celebrate love is great, but what if we all vowed to show a little more love to others and ourselves on a day to day basis? Imagine how much more positive life would be! Look past the reds and pinks of Valentine’s Day to what it means to love somebody, or yourself. Love isn’t just one day of chocolates and flowers. Love takes time. Love is trust, hard work, and effort to show the value of something. So go out and wear your favorite heart-shaped jewelry or find a shirt that reminds you of love. Don’t just pull it out of the back of your closet for Valentine’s Day, take it out when you need a pick me up. Make a friend a card when they’re feeling down. Say a simple “I care about you” to your loved ones every day. When you do this, you’ll be amazed at how showing love to others makes you feel great about yourself. And sure enough, love will find its way back to you just as often. So enjoy that box of chocolates today, but remember to say “I love you” tomorrow! :)
